16th CHAMPS Coordination Committee meeting

It was held on 1 December, 2024 (Sunday) from 01:00 pm to 05:00 pm at IEDCR (Conference room, new building)

Discussions:

1. The meeting started with the permission of Prof. Dr. Tahmina Shirin, Director, IEDCR.
2. Introduction of the all members.
3. Action points of the 15 th coordination committee meeting were discussed first and the decisions were as follows:
   1. Technical Committee members would be informed about their membership formally through an official letter.
   2. Date of the Technical Committee Meeting needs to be finalized as soon as possible.
   3. CHAMPS team is developing an Apps related to ANC visit of the pregnant mother. This app can be shared with the technical committee members in the meeting.
4. Respective CHAMPS BD Team leads presented the updates of the activities. Dr. Kazi Munisul Islam presented the updates of mortality surveillance and MITS. Prof. Dr. Tahmina Shirin, Director , IEDCR suggested to perform the culture and sensitivity (C/S) test at the nearest laboratory or hospital of the sample collection site and it will help to decrease the difference of the positivity between urine R/M/E and C/S findings.
5. Dr. Afsana Arifin presented the updates about the DeCoDe. Ms. Arpita Shyama Deb presented the update on laboratory findings of MITS.
6. Ms. Shahana Parveen presented the SBS update. There were some discussions to present the “Date scheduler app” at next technical committee meeting.
7. Mohammad Faruque Hossain presented the update on community feedback sessions.
8. Muhammad Shaikh Hassan presented about community death notification and community MITS approach. He also mentioned about community volunteer meetings and training. Dr. Shams sir suggested to develop an app which will show whether any volunteer (project staff) has visited the same house earlier for meeting or not. This app will have an option to put project staff’s impression or challenges in that house
9. Md. Atique Iqbal Chowdhury presented about HDSS component updates. He showed some graphical updates of pregnant women visit date and event date.
10. Md. Golam Mostafa presented the update on CHAMPS website, IEDCR.
11. Dr. Mohammad Sabbir Ahmed, managing editor of NBPH presented an activity report in this meeting.
12. After his presentation, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman discussed about policy forum and technical committee meeting. He discussed about technical committee meeting date confirmation and dissemination. Some discussions were about how to present CHAMPS activities in the next technical committee meeting.
13. Dr. Mahbub requested Dr. Shams to give the technical support for Strategic Data Analysis Workshop/training which will be arranged by IEDCR.
14. He also discussed about National bulletin of Public Health (NBPH).Dr. Shams suggested to publish verified case report -related to emerging and re -emerging diseases in this bulletin for regular flow of articles and making it attractive to others. CHAMPS team can provide articles for NBPH in a regular interval, he said.the decision for 17th coordination committee is March 2025.
